Astoria Software to Showcase Content Management Efficiencies as Platinum Sponsor of 2007 DocTrain Events

Company Joins Adobe Systems as Premier Supporter of 8th Annual Documentation & Training Conference Highlighting "The User Experience"

SAN MATEO, Calif. – April 2, 2007 – Driving efficiencies in dynamic publishing, Astoria Software today announced it is a platinum sponsor of the 8th Annual Documentation & Training Conference (DocTrainUX), being held April 18-21, 2007, at the Marriott Pinnacle Hotel in Vancouver, BC, and October 16-19, 2007, in Boston. Astoria joins Adobe Systems, Inc., as the only other platinum sponsor of this leading industry event, which focuses on the theme, "The User Experience," to help technical communication professionals improve the usefulness of the communication deliverables they create.

"This year, DocTrainUX attendees will learn how to adapt to the paradigm shift being driven by new technologies for creating, managing, and delivering information in the digital age," said Dan Ortega, vice president of marketing for Astoria Software. "Our activities at this conference will emphasize the critical role an XML content management system can play in optimizing content creation and re-use."

DocTrainUX targets information managers, technical documentation writers, as well as training and communication professionals with sessions and workshops that address both tactical and strategic concerns. In addition to being introduced to new technologies focused on information creation, management, delivery, and usability, attendees will learn about best practices in organizational change that ensure content consumers realize maximum use of information.

Highlights of Astoria's participation at DocTrainUX will include:

  • "The World by Storm: Adobe, Astoria, and Structured Content." Content management builds bridges between content creation and multi-channel delivery, allowing the same information to be used by a variety of consumers. Eric Kuhnen, director, product management for Astoria, and RJ Jacquez, senior product evangelist, Adobe FrameMaker and RoboHelp, will discuss the benefits of creating and managing structured content to optimize the usability of valued content. The presentation will be held 12:30pm - 1:50pm on April 19, 2007.
  • "Under the Microscope: Use Experience Test of Astoria Software Hosted CMS." Led by Astoria's Kuhnen, this session gives attendees a chance to preview and comment on the Astoria user experience. The session will be held 10:15am - 11:30am on April 20, 2007.
  • On the show floor, Astoria will demonstrate its latest XML content management tools, showing end-to-end global information management. JustSystems, Inc. will join Astoria in its booth to highlight their recently-announced partnership and showcase the forthcoming, integrated XMetaL and Astoria Software solution.
